Notes
USES. No data. CONSERVATION Least concern. This species is close in appearance to S. phillipsiae, sometimes even growing within the same populations in the wild e.g. at the Nairobi River Falls. The two are different in that S. phillipsiae has leaves that are smooth, unbanded, deep-dark green throughout and normally larger in size. The precise type locality may be inferred from where specimens with short flower tubes have been collected: around Nakuru. S. suffruticosa var . suffruticosa is found N of a line running south-east of the Mau escarpment, Aberdares and Mt Kenya.
