Notes
USES. Roots used medicinally; leaves squeezed for water by baboons. CONSERVATION Least Concern. This species closely resembles S. pearsonii (Southern Africa), S. desertii and a few others within the East African region. It is identified in having a very rough leaf surface – almost like ground glass, and an acute horny spine.
