Names
ENTOLASIA olivacea Stapf [family POACEAE], in F.T.A. 9: 740 (1920); Fl. Agrost. Congo Belge 2: 80 (1934); Troupin, Fl. Garamba 1: 35 (1956); Clayton in F.W.T.A., ed. 2, 3: 445 (1972). Types: Zaire, Lutschina, Vanderyst 2855 (K, syn.!) and several other syntypes
Information
Perennial from a creeping rhizome; culms 50–100 cm. high, decumbent and rooting at the nodes below. Leaf-blades narrowly lanceolate, 4–15 cm. long, 5–18 mm. wide, with cartilaginous margins, one of them crimped. Inflorescence 7–15 cm. long, compound, the primary branches 3–7 cm. long and bearing crowded secund racemelets 4–10 mm. long; pedicels terete. Spikelet 2.2–2.5 mm. long; lower glume 0.2–0.4 mm. long, broadly obtuse; upper lemma obtuse.
