Subshrub 0.2–2 m. tall; stems drying blackish, ± glabrous or with only a few lines of hairs on young parts; internodes short. Leaf-blades narrowly elliptic to lanceolate, discolourous, green above (blackish green when dry), whitish or silvery beneath, 0.8–2(–2.5) cm. long, 2.5–8 mm. wide, acute at the apex, cuneate at the base, revolute at the margins, glabrous or with a few hairs on the margins and main nerve beneath; petiole short, scarcely 1(–1.5) mm. long; stipule-sheath hairy, 1–3 mm. long, with 3–7 fimbriae 1–4 mm. long, often ciliate. Inflorescences (1–)1.5–2.5 cm. wide; peduncle 0–1.5 cm. long, sometimes bifariously hairy; pedicels 0–1 mm. long. Calyx-tube ovoid, 0.5–1.5 mm. long, glabrous, pubescent or with a few hairs at top between the lobes; lobes 1.3–2.5 mm. long, glabrous or with some hairs on margin at the base. Corolla white, pink or pale lilac; tube 1.8–4 mm. long, longest in the short-styled flowers, glabrous or hairy outside; lobes oblong-ovate, 1.5–3 mm. long, 1–1.3 mm. wide. Style 1.7–2.8 mm. long in short-styled flowers, 3–5.8 mm. long in long-styled flowers; stigma-lobes 0.2–0.5 mm. long. Capsule 1–1.2 mm. tall excluding the 1–1.6 mm. long beak, 1.8–2 mm. wide.
