Ochna leucophloeos Verdc. subsp. ugandensis [family OCHNACEAE], subsp. nov. a subspecie typica foliis ellipticis 4–7.5 cm longis, 2.3–4 cm latis basi rotundatis vel leviter subcordatis differt. Typus: Uganda, Acholi District: Adilang, Greenway & Hummel 7338 (K!, holo., EA, iso.)
Ochna ovata [family OCHNACEAE], sensu I.T.U. ed. 2: 280 (1952) pro parte, non F. Hoffm.
Information
Shrub to 3.6 m. Leaves elliptic, 4–7.5 cm long, 2.3–4 cm wide, rounded to slightly subcordate at the base.

DISTR. U 1 not known elsewhere

Distribution
UGANDA Acholi District Mt Madi, Mar. 1935, Eggeling 1740 in F.D. 1615! & Adilang, 11 Apr. 1945, Greenway & Hummel 7338!
Notes
Robson thought that the Uganda material was a sp. aff. O. leucophloeos and both sheets have been annotated as that species by Wadhwa. Further material is needed to assess its status.
