Notes
Gardner in F.D. 2473 (Kenya, Machakos District: S slopes of Mbooni Ridge, Sept. 1930) and several other specimens have large ovoid acuminate buds up to 15 x 8 mm in addition to the normal fusiform ones – these are definitely galls and contain insect larvae – probably microlepidoptera.
