Information
Subshrub 30–35 cm tall with smooth brown branches. Leaves coriaceous, obovate, 13–15 cm long, 6–8 cm wide, ± rounded at the apex, narrowly cuneate at the base, regularly spinulose-serrate, shiny on both sides; lateral veins 15–20, ± at right angles to midrib together with very numerous transverse tertiary veinlets, very prominent above, less so beneath; petiole 2–3 mm long and thick. Flowers few at apices of branches, often forming paniculiform clusters; pedicels ± 1 cm long. Sepals oblong, 11–12 mm long, 4–5 mm wide, rounded at apex. Petals lemon yellow, larger than the sepals, broadly obovate, 14–15 mm long, 8–9 mm wide, rounded at the apex, narrowed at base. Anthers linear, 5 mm long, opening by apical pores; filaments shorter, 3–4 mm long. Style 11–12 mm long, divided at apex into numerous very short stigma-bearing branches. Fruits not seen.
