Information
Perennial herb, scrambling to 3 m high; branches white-tomentose. Leaves lanceolate, 3–18 cm long, 1–5.5 cm wide, base cuneate into a short pseudopetiole but half-clasping the stem proximally, margins crenulate (or entire outside our area), apex acute and mucronate, sparsely pilose above, white-tomentose beneath. Capitula 7–8 mm long, heterogamous, many together in terminal lax leafy corymbose panicles; stalks of individual capitula 5–10 mm long; phyllaries shiny pale yellow, multiseriate, ovate to lanceolate, 1.5–7.5 mm long, glabrous but for the slightly pilose and glandular stereome, acute; receptacle honeycombed. Florets yellow; outer florets many, in several series, tube filiform, 1.8–2.4 mm long, lobes 0.1–0.2 mm long, style 2.5–2.7 mm long; inner florets many, tube cylindrical, 2.3–2.9 mm long, lobes 0.3–0.5 mm long and glandular, anthers 1.3–1.4 mm long, style 2.7–3.4 mm long. Achenes ellipsoid, 0.8–0.9 mm long, glabrous; pappus whitish, 2–3 mm long, barbellate, caducous individually.
