Contrary to what has been reported so far in literature, this species has heterogamous capitula; but the outer, female, florets resemble the hermaphrodite ones and may be difficult to distinguish. ADDENDUM/ERRATUM (published in Compositae - Part 3, 2005): Muasya et al. collected Inula paniculata in K 4;
