Leaves 14–20-foliolate. Indumentum of inflorescence-rhachis and calyx greyish.

Notes
Holst 2825 from Tanganyika, Amboni, must, if correctly labelled, have come from a low altitude and Kerfoot 1091 has the accompanying information, “extending in to the cedar zone 7000 ft.” A number of plants from Tanganyika, e.g. Claus in Herb. Amani 1655 in part (Dodoma District, Kilimatinde), Greenway 2172 (Pare Mts.) and Gillman 796 (W. Usambara Mts.) approach subsp. oblongus Verdc. described from Malawi and E. Rhodesia. More ripe fruiting material is required.
