Information
Shrub up to 3 m. tall; rootstock unknown; stems erect, branched above, yellow-tomentose. Leaves ovate, 12 cm. long, ± 6.5 cm. wide, rather acute at the apex, truncate or subcordate at the base, green and pubescent above, densely grey-tomentose beneath; petiole about 1 cm. long. Inflorescences terminal at the ends of the branchlets, forming a long corymbose arrangement. Sepals very small, ovate, 3 mm. long, 1.5 mm. wide, glabrous or sparsely pubescent. Corolla mauve, narrowly funnel-shaped, 2.4 cm. long. Capsule globose, 9 mm. in diameter, glabrous.

TANGANYIKA Morogoro District Mtibwa Forest Reserve, Sept. 1952, Semsei 932 !
Notes
Although this species is undoubtedly new the material is too poor to describe. Duplicates of the gathering are at BR, EA & K.
