Information
A low spreading bush with woody branches, 15–120 cm. tall. Lateral branchlets 1.5–12 cm. long. Stipules ovate, entire, reddish-brown, transversely wrinkled, obscuring the branchlets, glabrous or with long white hairs on the margins. Leaves undivided, sessile or nearly so, simple, broadest at the apex and thence ± evenly narrowed to the base, 4–15 × 2–5 mm., apically truncate and ± tridentate, with the acute, forward-directed teeth up to 1.5(–2) mm. deep, covered on both sides with long silvery hairs. Flowers 1–3 together. Calyx-tube 1.5 mm. long; calyx-lobes triangular, 1–1.5 mm. long; epicalyx-lobes lanceolate, shorter than the calyx-lobes. Achenes usually 2.

Notes
Dale 3403 has a leaf somewhat intermediate between this species and the next, there being a tendency for maximum width below the apex in certain leaves. The flowers, however, correspond with those of A. elgonensis in size.
