Information
A shrub 3–4, rarely 5 ft. high; trunk 1 1/2–2 in. diam. at the base; branches clothed with the squarrose bases of the old leaves. Leaves coriaceous, linear, acuminate, glabrous, 5–6 in. long, nearly 1/2 in. broad, the edges denticulate upwards. Peduncle 4–5 in. long, densely viscous upwards. Perianth-segments lanceolate, blue-white, 3/4–1 in. long. Ovary clavate, 1/3– 3/8 in. long, densely clothed with black glands. Anthers linear, subsessile, half as long as the perianth-segments. Capsule oblong, crustaceous, 1/2 in. diam., densely clothed with black glands.
Distribution
Angola Lower Guinea Pungo Andongo; gregarious on the high rocky slopes at the Fort, Welwitsch!
