Notes
Subsp. multiflora, with quite sessile inflorescences and glabrous calyx and corolla, occurs in E Kenya, E Tanzania, Mozambique, the Comoro Islands, and on the Aldabra Islands. One collector has indicated that P. multiflora subsp. pubescens can grow to a 25 m tall tree in Somalia, but this needs to be confirmed.
