plant 1/3– 3/4 ft. high, with 2 ovoid tubers; leaves 2, unequal, broadly ovate or elliptic-ovate, subacute, submembranous, with white reticulated veins, glabrous, 1–2 in. long; scapes 1/2– 3/4 ft. high, rather slender, pubescent, without sheaths; racemes 1–3 in. long, dense or sometimes lax, secund; bracts ovate-lanceolate, acute, pubescent, about 1 lin. long; pedicels about 2 lin. long; flowers 4–5 lin. long, white, membranous; sepals ovate, acute, glabrous, 1 lin. long, 1-nerved; petals oblong-lanceolate, acuminate, 3 lin. long, 1-nerved; lip 4–5 lin. long, cuneate, narrow at the base, unequally lobed; sides lobes linear, subacute, the middle part divided into 3 or rarely 5 broadly triangular teeth; spur narrowly conical, nearly straight, about one-third as long as the limb; column stout, about half as long as the petals. null
