Information

stems erect, much branched, terete, glabrous; branches compressedly angular, one-flowered; lower leaves long, linear-lanceolate, 3 nerved, glabrous or roughish near the top, upper gradually shorter; bracts about 6, ovato-lanceolate, about twice as short as the (inch-long) tube; calyx teeth lanceolate, ciliolate; petals crenato-dentate, the lamina broadly ovate. 1–1 1/2 feet high. Lower leaves 2–3 inches long, 1 1/2–2 lines wide; upper rameal 6–2 lines long. Calyx somewhat striate; bracts ovate, acuminate. Lamina of the petals 5 lines long, 3 lines wide, very shortly toothed. It varies with a subsimple stem.
