Stapf's letter of 2 May has just been received. Since writing to Stapf about the Stipas, Dr Shantz's African collection of grasses has been turned over to the Department. She has sorted them and shall name them as best she can from the material at hand and Stapf's FLORA OF TROPICAL AFRICA. She thinks these collections would be of interest to Stapf for his work on the African grasses and, with Dr Hitchock's and Dr Shantz's consent, she is taking out a duplicate wherever it can be spared to send for the RBG Kew Herbarium. In addition, she shall include a packet of unicates for Stapf's examination with a second label so that he may take a fragment from the specimen if desired. She asks for a list of the identifications or verification of these grasses. She will be glad of Stapf's comments on the Panicum glaucum problem and hopes Miss Hughes' health will be entirely restored in the near future. Page 1 of 1.
