By this morning's post Sabine received the enclosed letter from his friend Dr Scherzer [see letter folio at 218/288], so well known to the public by the services he rendered in the voyage of the 'Novara'. It seems to Sabine that he cannot aid in the object of Scherzer's present undertaking more effectually than by enclosing his letter to Archer Hirst to be brought to the notice of the sections of the British Association now assembled at Norwich. The countries Scherzer will visit offer a wide field of research in many sciences, but particularity so to the natural history sections meeting under the Presidency of Sabine's present most eminent naturalist.
