Prestoe hopes Hooker will not mind him addressing him to express his heartfelt sorrow at the dearth of Sir William Hooker. He regrets not having been able to convey his humble sentiments of sympathy at an earlier date. He assures Hooker that the memory of his father and the useful time he passed at RBG Kew in his service will ever awaken in him the liveliest feelings of gratitude and respectful affection.
