Hannyngton is sending, herewith, a few Orchis roots he brought with him from India. There are two roots of a rather rare ground Orchis that he found on the Western Ghats growing at elevations of 3000 feet. The flower is single, on a single stem, pale yellow and waxy looking. Hannyngton knows nothing of flowers, but believes it to be rare. If his correspondent does not consider the plants worth having, Hannyngton asks him to send them to some nursery gardener.
