Description
Wood is responding to a letter from Dyer, he says he has been busy since returning from the Berg[?] but hopes to start work on some dried plants soon. Wood refers to a correspondence he had with Mr. Large about one of his drawings of wild flowers which will be in the Colonial & Indian Exhibition. He says Mr. Large confirms that No. 106 of Disa crassicornis is bigger than the average size of the plant but that he has seen some bigger than in the drawing. Wood informs Dyer he has decided to spend £15 of the year's funds the Herbarium has received from the government on books, and asks if he would choose them for him. Wood says he has arranged for £15 to be paid to Dyer for this purpose via Harvey Greenacre & Co, and includes a list of books he already has and those owned by the Botanic Society. Page 1 of 2.
