Note states that the blotches on the leaves are minute epiphyllous lichens which do no harm to cloves and that the blistering and crumpling of the tea leaves is caused by a parasitic fungus, Exobasidium vexans, Massee. The disease is described in the Kew Bulletin, 1898, P. 109. The author of the note writes that it would be interesting to know how the disease reached Zanzibar and asks if the tea plants were imported from Assam. For the letter from William H.
