Notes
Plentiful at top of limestone knob, in bluff prairie on edge of woodland in light shade. With Rubus, Helianthus decapetalus, Anaphalis margaritacea, Gnaphalium obtusifolium, Artemisia pycnostachya, Physalis, Xanthoxylum americanum, Desmodium glutinosum, Sanicula, Parthenossissus, Eupatorium rugosum, Amphicarpa bracteata, Ribes missouriense, Juglans nigra, Quercus velutina, Fraxinus americana, Quercus muhlenbergii, Monarda fistulosa, Juniperus virginiana. Rosettes carpet an area ca 7m x 2m. Originally collected by R. R. Kowal & A. M. Mahoney, 1995 Sep 23. Individual 1 grown in Test Garden 5, position C25, in R. R. Kowal's garden, Madison WI. Phenology: flowering & fruiting. Cultivated.
