Biography
American botanist from Kirksville, Missouri who studied at St Louis. In 1939 Marion Ownbey moved to Washington State University (WS), eventually becoming Director, and the herbarium was subsequently renamed the Marion Ownbey Herbarium. Vegter also gives the erroneous entry 'Owenby, Marion & Ruth', which refers to F.M. Ownbey and his wife R.P. Ownbey.
