Procumbent or trailing herb. Stems several from the base, up to 1·10 m. long, subterete, at first densely, later finely and shortly pubescent. Leaf lamina oblong or lanceolate-oblong to lanceolate, 2–7 × 0·5–1 cm., usually hastate-truncate or auricled at the base, sometimes some lanceolate from a narrow base or all lanceolate, obtuse, minutely mucronate at the apex, entire to subrepand, hairy or glabrescent; petiole 5–10 mm. long, glabrescent; inflorescences axillary 1–2 flowered; peduncle absent or very short, thinly hairy with rather long hairs as are bracteoles, pedicels and sepals; bracteoles linear-lanceolate, 3–6 mm. long, obtuse or subacute; pedicels up to 10 mm. in fruit. Sepals subequal, lanceolate to linear, acuminate, 7–15 × 1–2 mm., spreading in fruit. Corolla narrowly funnel-shaped, mauve or white, 12–15 mm. long; midpetaline areas hairy towards the tips. Capsule globose, hirsute. Seeds brown with a villous tomentum of appressed stiff hairs.
