Information
Shrub or small bushy tree 2–5 m. high, rarely (in South Africa) flowering as a shrublet 0–6 m. high. Leaf–lamina 3·2 x 0·9–7 x 1·6 cm., very rarely broader, lanceolate–elliptic, apex acute, densely pubescent beneath, with spreading crispate hairs and an under storey of small, shortly stalked glandular hairs. Differs from subsp. acutifolia in its smaller, proportionally narrower leaves.
Habitat
In bushland on rocky outcrops.

Notes
Subsp. angustifolia suddenly replaces subsp. acutifolia in Zimbabwe at about 20°S and 900 m. alt. Although there is a slight overlap or interdigitation of their ranges subsp. angustifolia is very local in the contact zone, and it seems that the two subspecies do not occur in close proximity.
