Information
Differs from A. seyal var. fistula in being a taller tree up to 20 m. high, and in having the inflorescences in lateral fascicles on the twigs of the previous season and the pods mostly shorter than usual (4-11 cm.) and less falcate. Differs from A. xanthophloea in having some of the spines showing a tendency to be enlarged below and thus ± fusiform and the pods ± falcate.

Notes
The pods of this apparent hybrid are conspicuously irregular, ranging in length from 4-11 cm., and in width from 6-10 mm. They are often apparently ill-formed, with irregular constrictions, but with a distinct tendency to be wider than is usual in A. seyal. They are also correspondingly variable in the extent to which they are curved.
