Annual herb with single erect to decumbent unbranched to branched stems; stems to 40 cm long, sericeous-pilose or sparsely so. Leaves with petiole 0–2(–4) mm long, not winged, indumentum as leaves; lamina oblong-obovate or narrowly so, largest 3–6.2≈1–2.5 cm, apex acute to broadly rounded, base cuneate, decurrent, margin with a pair of large rounded teeth in lower third and sometimes coarsely and irregularly dentate towards apex; sericeous-pilose or sparsely so, densest on veins beneath. Flowers axillary, solitary; pedicels 3–6(–13 in fruit) mm long, puberulous and sometimes with longer pilose hairs; bracteoles green, ovate, 1–1.7≈0.4–0.8 cm, acute, truncate at base, pilose or sparsely so, mostly on midrib and margins, and with puberulous hairs. Calyx puberulous and with scattered capitate glands, rim ± 1 mm high, segments narrowly triangular, 2–3(–5 in fruit) mm long. Corolla white, with or without pale yellow centre; cylindric tube ± 2 mm long; throat straight, narrowly campanulate, 7–10 mm long and 3–5 mm in diameter apically; lobes 3–5≈3–5 mm. Filaments ± 2 and 3 mm long; anthers ± 1.5 mm long, distinctly apiculate, bearded at base; spurs ± 1 mm long. Capsule densely puberulous, depressed globose, 5–8≈6–10 mm, beak 8–12 mm long, parallel-sided and constricted at base. Seed 3.5–5 mm in diameter, dark reddish brown, smooth.
