Notes
Only collected in East Africa in the Virunga and Mahali Mts, flowering more or less throughout the year.Champluvier concluded that this species was not distinguishable from K. grantii by its bracts, but although there is overlap the bracts of K. bequaertii in general are much shorter and acute, not acuminate. Along with the general shape of the raceme, compactly cylindrical, the colour of the flowers, and the separation in habitat, I find that these two species can be maintained as distinct.
