Since 1990 the Herbarium of the University of Zurich (Z) and the Herbarium of the ETH Zurich (ZT) are combined and maintained collectively as United Herbaria of the University and ETH Zurich (Z+ZT) comprising about 2.4 Mio. specimens of vascular plants, some 0.4 Mio. specimens of bryophytes and algae, and about 1 Mio. specimens of fungi and lichens. The vascular plant collections include some 16'000 types and consist of large numbers of specimens from Central Europe and the Mediterranean Region, Tropical and Southern Africa, New Caledonia, South America, and Southeastern Asia. More than half of the collections originate from Switzerland and document its vascular plant diversity since the early 18th century. Since 2018, the Brassicaceae holdings, totaling more than 80’000 specimens, can be accessed through the institutional website at www.herbarien.uzh.ch/en/belegsuche.htm. A database of collectors is available at www.herbarien.uzh.ch/en/herbarien-zzt/sammlerliste.html
