The flora of Cameroon comprises an estimated 8000 species. The Cameroon National Herbarium contains approximately 150 specimens and 900 sheets of endemic species. Also included in the herbarium are 100 type specimens that are representative of the country’s vegetative diversity. The herbarium’s participation in the African Plant Initiative will facilitate research on Cameroon’s flora, provide access to the information for botanists around the word, and increase training and learning opportunities in Cameroon.
