The Medellin Botanical Garden Joaquín Antonio Uribe is a living museum with scientifically organized collections. In JAUM Herbarium collections that are preserved or dried are documented and stored in the Library Andrés Posada Arango. Living specimen collections are located in the heart of the city for all everyone to enjoy.
As a botanical garden, we have multiple permanent programs based on; basic and applied research, conservation in situ and ex situ, meaning and conservation of the natural environment of the plant or outside. Our mission is to generate, disseminate and apply scientific knowledge about the floristic diversity of Antioquia and the country in relation to the tropics. We also strive to contribute to the appreciation, conservation, restoration and management of this great environmental region and its plant species.
