Herbarium Frisicum

Herbarium Frisicum is one of the largest private collections of Europe, with over 100,000 specimens. Herbarium Frisicum is committed to collecting both old and new collections, to retaining them for the future, maintaining and expanding the existing collections. Collections are open to the public and available for research.

Herbarium Frisicum was founded in 1979 by Mr. Karst Meijer. For this he was inspired by Mr Van der Ploeg. In 2013 the entire collection was moved from Friesland to Drenthe. In November 2014 the Herbarium moved back to Friesland.
