University of Bern

The University of Bern Institute of Plant Sciences and Botanical Garden carries out research in Plant Development, Molecular Plant Physiology, Plant Nutrition, Plant Ecology, Vegetation Ecology and Palaeoecology. It contributes to the teaching programs in BSc Biology and to several MSc courses. The University of Bern Herbarium is situated within the Institute of Plant Sciences and Botanical Gardens.

In coordination with the Nelson Foundation, the Institute of Plant Sciences and Botanical Garden joined Global Plants in 2015, and has contributed nearly 750 orchid illustrations by Erich Nelson.
