Information
Resembles S. mesogrammoides, but the leaf midrib is scabrid, while the leaves are glabrous otherwise; and the number of phyllaries is higher (± 20–29).

USES. None recorded on specimens from our area; toxic to livestockCONSERVATION Least concern (LC) Resembles S. mesogrammoides; but while that species is grazed, S. madagascariensis is toxic to livestock.
