Information
A much-branched erect shrub, 3–6 ft. high, with densely pubescent branches. Leaves petioled, oblong-lanceolate, 2–3 in. long, rugose, minutely crenate, with a scent like those of Salvia officinalis, but stronger. Whorls very dense, globose, forming long racemose panicles at the end of the branches; lowest bracts as long as the flowers. Calyx densely pubescent, 1/6 in. long. Corolla white; tube as long as the calyx; limb small.
Range
Also in Arabia and India, where it is commonly cultivated for its sage-like leaves.
