Notes
Timir (tree); garow (fruit) (Som.). Gillett & Watson 23873, from 10°43’N, 46°38’E, is probably from a native tree, while Thulin, Dahir & Hassan 9197 is from an originally planted stand near Laasqoray. The Somali plants have smaller fruits (c. 4.5–5.5 cm long) than normal in the species. The relationship between H. thebaica and H. dankaliensis Becc. (1906) in Eritrea needs further study.
