Six inches to 1 foot high, rigid. Leaves 3–4 lines, in β. 4–6 lines long, the mucro evident in the upper, often deficient in the lower leaves. Flowers mostly larger than in D. vulgaris. Petals white. Capsule glabrous; the carpels sub-compressed, gland-dotted on the back, transversely striate at the sides, 4 lines long, tipped with patent, obtuse horns. Known from the last by its dwarfer habit, shorter and erect leaves with a recurved point, and calyx not ciliate at edge. Perhaps a mere variety?
