Information
erect, glabrous; leaves minutely petiolate, erecto-patent, oval or sub-orbicular, coriaceous, shining, netted, quite entire; peduncles axillary, crowded, very short; capsule trigonous, 3–4 valved, 2–3 seeded. A much branched shrub, one or more feet high, with greyish-brown, terete branches and angular twigs. Leaves elliptical, orbicular or obovate, obtuse or with a short, obtuse acumination, rather concave, with a revolute margin, the larger uncial, smaller 1/2-uncial, petiole 1 line long. Pedicels 2–4, rarely more, 1–2 lines long, jointed above the base. Flowers small. Petals 5, ovate-oblong, twice as long as the obtuse calyx. Stamens shorter than the petals. Ovary 2–4, mostly 3-celled. Capsule as large as a pea, brown. Seed angular, purplish, with a thin aril.
