Information
Herb up to c. 50 cm tall. Leaves 1 or 2; petiole with basal sheaths forming pseudostem up to 30 cm long, free part 2–17 cm long; blade pedately divided; leaflets 5–11, lanceolate to elliptic, 3–10.5 x 0.6–3.8 cm, central one largest, acuminate. Inflorescence normally overtopping leaves, free part of peduncle 6–18.5 cm long. Spathe 3.5–7.2 cm long; tube broadly cylindric, 0.9–2 x 1–1.5 cm, green; limb oblong-ovate, acuminate, yellow with purplish-brown patch at base within, 2.6–5.5 x 1.1–2 cm, folded sharply forward over spathe mouth. Spadix 1.3–2.7 cm long, bisexual; sterile appendage usually clavate, 0.5–0.7 cm long. Anthers dehiscing by apical pores. Pistils subglobose; stigma minute. Berries red, c. 5 mm in diam., in subglobose cluster.
