This species may even be considered to be conspecific with A. clutioides, in which case its name has priority by 10 years.In Zaire it is a polycuprophyte, only being found on a substrate where the copper content of the soil is above 2,500 ppm., and it can tolerate concentrations of up to 50,000 ppm.
