Information
Slender tree, 3–5 m tall, with basal vegetative branches forming a cushion c. 0.5 m high from which emerges a single stem with slender whip-like branches; bark grey, smooth; young branchlets grey to brown, ± densely puberulous. Prickles usually solitary, ± ascending and usually somewhat curved downwards, sometimes with 2 additional lateral rudimentary and ± straight prickles. Leaves: pinne 1–2(–3) pairs; leaflets 5–11 pairs, 1.6–4 x 0.8–1.6 mm, sparsely to densely pubescent or subglabrous. Flowers pale yellow, in up to 4 cm long spikes. Calyx 1.6–1.8 mm long. Corolla c. 2.5 mm long. Pods straight, dehiscent, (2.5–)3.5–5.5 x (1.2–)1.4–1.9 cm, greyish brown to brown, transversely veined, densely puberulous with spreading hairs.
