Information
Small tree 8 m. high; branchlets glabrous. Leaves: stipules not seen, apparently very quickly caducous; petiole 4–6(–8, fide Taubert) mm. long, glabrous; lamina oblong-elliptic or possibly obovate-elliptic, 8–12(–14, fide Taubert) cm. long, 2.7–4.5(–6.5, fide Taubert) cm. wide, acuminate at apex, rounded to cuneate-rounded at base. Axis of raceme 0–2 mm. long; pedicels glabrous, 10–15 mm. long. Flower-buds pale pink. Sepals 4.5–5 mm. long. Petals ± 6 mm. long (only damaged ones seen). Ovary glabrous. Pods unknown.

Notes
The distinctions between this species, Z. grotei and Z. schliebenii are small. It may well be that the two latter are really only geographical races or subspecies of Z. capparidacea, but the available material is, I consider, still insufficient to justify drastic alterations in the taxonomy.
