Information
Small evergreen tree up to 6 m. tall; branches and leaves glabrous. Leaves 3-foliolate; petiole 1·5–5 (6·5) cm. long, terete, sometimes slightly grooved near the apex; leaflets subsessile or with a petiolule up to 5 mm. long; lamina 7–18 x 2–7 cm., narrowly elliptic to elliptic, acuminate or acute or blunt at the apex, cuneate at the base; lateral nerves and veins numerous. Inflorescence of axillary and terminal panicles; peduncle and rhachis reddish-brown, minutely puberulous. Flowers bisexual, 4-merous, sessile, usually glomerate on the branches of the panicle; bracteoles very small, scarious, ciliolate. Sepals forming a cupuliform calyx 1·1 mm. long, including lobes 0·3 mm. long. Petals 3 × 1·1 mm., oblong, slightly imbricate in bud, reflexed. Stamens opposite the sepals, inserted at the base of a very narrow disk; filaments linear, flattened at the base, as long as the petals; anthers basifixed, 2-lobed at the base; ovary ellipsoid; style short; stigma capitate, 2-lobed. Fruit 7 × 5 mm., ovoid. Mature seeds not seen.
