Thallus irregularly radiating. Stems slender, up to 4 in. long, 3–4 times dichotomous. Leaves up to 1 in. long, with usually 2 filiform segments. Spathellæ about 3 lin. long; pedicels very slender, about 14 lin. long. Filaments 2 lin. long, united about half-way up; anthers rather longer than the filaments. Ovary compressed, ovate. Capsule about 1 lin. long; valves boat-shaped, very minutely verrucose. Seeds black, minute, ovoid.
