Information
 Erect perennial herb 35 cm tall; stems inconspicuously appressed-pubescent with short T-shaped hairs. Leaves sessile, oblong or slightly obovate, 2-4.4 cm long, 0.3-1 cm wide, cuneate-attenuate into a petioloid base, margins entire, apex obtuse, apiculate, sparsely inconspicuously pubescent, glabrescent, densely glandular with sunken glands. Capitula few in lax terminal corymbiform cymes; stalks of individual capitula shortly ascending-pubescent; involucre 7-9 mm long, 5-7 mm in diameter at flowering time; phyllaries 3-4-seriate, lanceolate, acute, 2-6.6 mm long, sparsely pubescent, glandular. Corolla purple, 8 mm long, tube subcylindrical, lobes 2.2 mm long, pubescent with slender appressed hairs. Achene (immature) ascending-pubescent, especially on ribs; outer pappus of narrow lanceolate laciniate scales, 1 mm long, inner pappus white, 5-6.5 mm long.
