Information
fruticose, reaching a height of many feet, with branches 1 1/2–2 in. diam., clothed with many sheaths of wiry, brown, parallel fibres with clathrate interspaces; leaves linear or linear-subulate, 1/2–1 ft. long, 1/12– 1/4 in. broad, closely and finely ribbed, smooth upon the margins and keel; peduncles 1–3-nate, stiffly erect, 3–5 in. long, not at all viscid, smooth except the very top; perianth-limb 1 1/2–1 3/4 in. long; segments purplish-white, lanceolate, neither glandular nor hairy outside; anthers linear, 3/4 in. long; ovary turbinate, 1/3 in. long, densely echinate with subulate, drab, wiry, ascending bristles; style cylindrical, as long as the anthers. null
