Information
Woody climber, although young plants may flower while still quite herbaceous, from a large tuber; stems glabrous to sparsely pubescent. Leaflets ± ovate, up to 6 x 5 cm, sometimes ± 3-lobed, glabrous to sparsely pubescent. Inflorescences long, many-flowered. Calyx glabrous; tube 2.5 mm long, lobes 2.5 mm long. Standard greenish to purplish blue, 1–1.8 cm long. Pods curved, flattened, 45–60 x 5.5–10 mm, widening towards the apex, first silky pubescent, becoming glabrescent.

Notes
In the original material of Phaseolus cibellii from S1 the reflexed apical appendage of the style is lacking. The same is true for Gillett, Hemming & Watson 22632 from C2 (30 km S of Buulo Burti). As these plants otherwise completely fall within the variation range of V. pseudolablab, they are here considered as conspecific, but further studies are desirable.
