Information
Leaves often larger, mostly more obovate, usually more distinctly acuminate, up to 16.5 cm. long, 6 cm. wide, mostly glabrescent beneath. Petals linear-oblong to linear-lanceolate, joined at the base for 0.5–1 cm., more gradually narrowed at the apex, up to 6 cm. long when mature.

Notes
A very peculiar abnormal specimen was collected in Kenya by W. E. Taylor in 1887 (Giryama and Shimba [Tsimba] Mts.) which has at least several of the flowers with 6 sepals and 8 petals.
