Perennials with sparsely branched erect stems up to 0,35 m high, covered first with short phyllopodia but later replaced by a peeling bark. Leaves linear, rarely linear-lanceolate, (10-)25-40(-80) x 2-4(-6) mm, slightly cuneate, acute, terete or with a groove above, glandular-pubescent to gla-brescent or glabrous, grey-green to greyish brown and often with reddish brown stria-tions. Inflorescence a thyrse with 3-5(-7) long, straight monochasia, but which usually zig-zag when young, each with 4—9 flowers, glandular-tomentose; peduncle 60-120(-200) mm long, brittle, pale yellow; pedicels 3-6 mm long. Calyx 4—6 mm long, glandular-tomentose, yellowish green; lobes lanceolate-triangular, acute. Corolla glanÂdular-pubescent to tomentose, yellowish green; tube cylindrical to somewhat funnel-shaped, 7-9 mm long, glabrous inside exÂcept for few hairs where filaments are fused to tube; lobes 5-7 mm long, recoiled. AnthÂers 1,5-1,8 mm long. Squamae oblong to square, 0,8-1,2 X 0,5-1 mm, slightly emar-ginate, fleshy, yellowish orange. Fig 2.
